Introduction
Like any other essay five paragraph essays start with an introductory paragraph. Your main job here is to grab the reader’s attention in the first few lines of the introductory paragraph. You introduce the main topic and you always start broad and with each sentence you become narrower and more specific. You end the paragraph with stating the thesis statement.
Three Body Paragraphs
The body paragraphs are similar to other types of essays. You begin with a topic sentence. Each paragraph must consist of a subtopic followed by the support sentences where you provide logical facts and figures to support your thesis statement. The body paragraph ends with a mini conclusion. It works as a transition sentence guiding your reader to the next paragraph.
The Conclusion
Lastly, like other types of essays the conclusion of an essay consisting of five paragraphs restates the thesis. You can summarize the key points of an essay in the conclusion. You can provide suggestions and your personal opinion as well.
